Hi Women
Some of you may be aware that the writing of this monthly editorial is not without intrigue. There are two women who feature regularly, if anonymously, within it’s confines. It has been a custom for those two women to set me a task, usually to include a couple of words within the text without affecting the flow or meaning of it. Even though I am damned with faint praise by the individuals involved, I have risen to the challenge each time. This month however, they have plumbed the depths of deviousness in order to provide a testing challenge for me, and considerable amusement for themselves. In case you are already trying to discern the nature of their Machiavellian scheming, let me assure you that I have not yet begun. Points will be awarded to those who correctly identify the nature of the challenge, and extra points for each element within it.

Hi Women and welcome to July’s editorial.
I’m sitting in the morning sun, thinking, I just don’t know what to do with myself. The sun is out, the sky is blue, there’s not a cloud to spoil the view, but the temperature’s rising and before too long, the mist will roll in from the sea.

Yesterday, I had to drive my car into Newcastle. It was so hot in the city, I could hardly breathe. Could it be forever? Or maybe until July 18th? On that day we can positively answer the question, what have you done today to make you feel proud? To tell the truth, if it rains until September, Pride will still be a day to remember, there’s nothing else to compare with that feeling of collectively marching to the beat of a different drum. Last year’s was all I hoped it would be. Any questions/directions/information ? Call me.

July may be the month we can celebrate good times, if this Sunday turns out to be the greatest day of Andy Murray’s life! What a difference a day makes. Seems like only yesterday since Ginny Wade triumphed in 1977. That was a very good year.

Young Laura Robson can hold her head high, although victory was denied her, she will survive.
So, on Sunday, one way or another you will find me either watching the ships roll in, or sending congratulations to a victorious Andy Murray.

It’s almost time to say goodbye, but before I let the sun go down on this editorial, let me implore you all to take good care of yourselves,
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen goodbye.
Love and sisterhood
